Google AdSense is one of the most successful ad serving programs in the World Wide Web. A lot of its popularity is attributed to the fact that Google uses it exclusively and extensively on all its web pages. Aside from that, AdSense also constantly upgrades its software in order to keep abreast with the dynamic demands of Internet users and online marketers alike. This ad serving program generates revenues primarily by cost-per-click basis, but AdSense is also known to practice cost-per-action and per-thousand-impressions based services.

However, Google AdSense can be a little limiting – just check out their terms and conditions on: www.google.com/adsense/localized-terms. This is why many website architects and online page developers are now looking into various alternatives that will prove to be major payloads, but still offer somewhat the same services as that of the ever ubiquitous AdSense. Some of the most likely candidates are the ones that are easier to use, less restrictive in polices and have proven better in terms of returns as compared to Google AdSense. These alternatives include: Clicksor, Bidvertiser, and Chitika.

Clicksor is one of the more prominent contenders being put up against Google Adsense. Unlike its competition, it primarily uses cost-per-clicks as a general source of revenue. In this field, Clicksor has already proven to be very effective, enabling market payouts of up to 85% of the time. This success rate has yet to be emulated still by Google AdSense; (they have 79% success rate). On the other hand, Clicksor do not have other successful alternatives like cost-per-action and per-thousand-impressions based services like the main forerunner of this race.
Website architects and online page developers are also taking note of the more lenient terms and conditions of use Clicksor. You can check this out for yourself at http://www.clicksor.com/advertisers_agreement.php.
Bidvertiser is another viable form of ad serving program that is easier to use, cheaper and gives the website architects and online page developers more freedom to create their text ads. They have an additional application called the Free design ads that allows user to manipulate the ad layout.
Also, Bidvertiser has a point-and-click too that allows even the most website-challenged developer the confidence to create professional looking pages. Another point for Bidvertisier is that they give the website developer the freedom to block all other unwanted ads.
There are, however, two down sides to this ad server program. One: their software for graphic or video based ads are somewhat lacking. Two: not all applications are accepted. We do not know particularly their criteria for acceptance is, but there seems to be quite a screening process to undergo.
Many may still mistake Chitika as a blog site and nothing else. But they do have an ad server program, which you can check out at www.chitika.com/ad-formats.php. The thing that we like about the Chitika advertising units (as they are called) is that they provide the actual websites active boxes containing products or services relevant to the actual content of the blog. In other words, they specialize in a marketing scheme called eMinimalls: an impulse marketing that is supposed to lead to impulse Internet buying as well.
