Evan Williams announced a fresh redesign to the biggest Twitter client, Twitter.com. The design draws on many of the innovations first seen in the official iPad app, and you'll see a new multi-pane view that lets you easily click between tweets, profiles, hash tags and other Twitter features.

Anyway Today Tweetie 2 has released an update which is free for current users and probably is the Final update for Tweetie 2 before it’s officially launched as ‘ Twitter for iPhone ‘.
The latest updates has minor bug fixes for Foursquare and a surprise. Yes! Just pull the screen to update your timeline and It would show you a slot machine spinning and If you are lucky to win it, it would display you a simple message,
Most of the people I am following on Twitter write their Tweets in English, However sometimes non-English speaking friends talk in their native language too like Italian, French etc and obviously I can not understand them. Today We are featuring a recently launched Firefox addon Twanslate which translates the Tweets on the go using Google Translation service.
Hackers briefly blocked the access to the most popular internet messaging service, Twitter, steering traffic to another website last month, where a group reportedly calling itself the "Iranian Cyber Army" claimed responsibility.
Users trying to reach Twitter on that day were redirected to a webpage that had a picture of green flag and a message that said, " This site has been hacked by Iranian Cyber Army". There was no evidence that the hackers are actuallly linked to Iran. Websites like Twitter and facebook bring attention to the Iranian opposition during the country's cracked down after its June election, with users posting minute-by-minute updates and amateur videos.
Later that day, Twitter posted a message on its blog saying that its 'Domain Name System records were temporarily compromised but have now been fixed saying it will update more details "once we've investigation more fully".
Micro-blogging services, Twitter branched into the marketing for electronic payments, unveiling a mini credit card swiper that plug into iphone. Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey, said that the device, the Square is aimed particularly to enable small transactions for paying"people like babysitter, the car Parker, the golf instructor". The small black Square plugs into the phone's microphone, turning the iphone into a card reader like the swipe machine widely in US shops and restaurants

Twitter Lists are great new way to organize information and follow tweets on Twitter. The feature makes Twitter a lot more useful. It works best for categories. For example, you can create a list of your favorite news sources or a list for a specific subject, such as blogging, social media, food, music or tech. Information junkies are going to love this feature. You can also go local and follow your favorite restaurants, hangouts and local news sources.
You can only create 20 lists but that doesn't really matter because you can go and follow cool lists that other people have made. One of the best features of Twitter Lists is that you can add people to your lists that you are not following. You can add someone to one of your lists by using a tab that appears next to their profile. When you hover over the tab your Twitter Lists appear and you can check the box(es) next to the List you want to add them to.
The lists themselves are very useful. They contain all the tweets from the twitterers you have added to the list. The lists appear on the right side of your page underneath the search box. When you click on one of the lists the tweets from the members in the list show up on your homepage. Each list also has its own page.
Here's a short summary of some of the features:

Here is another Twitter song called "Twitter Rock Stars." The song by Carina K was posted to YouTube a couple months ago. The song described as a "tongue-in-cheek, cheesy fun song" is definitely one of the better Twitter songs.
Here's "Twitter Rock Stars" with vocals by Carina K and guitar by Richie Scheffer.

The any major difference between Twitter and regular instant messaging conversations or text messages (sms: short messaging service)? The only difference I see between the two is that Twitter makes your private conversation with another person - a conversation that is in all likeliness irrelevant to anyone else reading it - available for everyone to view.
Hidden Costs
So before you start Twitting away, keep in mind that every time you do a status update, or publish something new but equally irrelevant on your Twitter feed, if you do it from your cell phone your carrier will charge you for every text message you send. And unless you have a plan that includes text messages, Twitting can be an expensive hobby, as Jason learned the hard way.
TMI: Too Much Information
It is a generally recommended practice for bloggers to disclose some information about themselves. Some personal disclosure allows your audience to have a closer connection with you when reading your content. There is of course the problem of disclosing too much information, or all the wrong kind of information about you.
The same problem that arose from the popularity of social networking sites will come up with Twitter. As the masses get addicted to twitter, people will start texting all sorts of things to the service, only to later realize that they shared some information that they shouldn't have. While you Twitter, just keep in mind that you are broadcasting whatever you're doing to the whole world (or at least your friends and colleagues). Please don't tell us about what diseases, which you got them from and who you've been doing what with.
Twitter does have its uses too. People familiar with Sturgeon's Law know that '90 percent of everything is crud. The law applies to Twitter more than anyone have witnessed it being applicable to anything else. If you manage to be selective, and prepare out the irrelevant information, you can definitely learn a thing or two form what people are saying. While the ordinary can be interesting/humorous and may be important to true friends, the breaking news is where the power of Twitter lies". This latter fact is exemplified by the list of top 100 Twitter users, over 21% of which is comprised of BBC, CNN, Google News, and other news outlets.
It’s no surprise that Twitter has quickly risen in popularity among social networks. It’s almost become a competition to see who can gain the most followers or who can follow the most celebrities.
As a blogger, there are many different ways you can promote your website through Twitter
Promote your blog posts
Use your Twitter account to share posts with your followers. There’s several different Twitter applications available that will automatically update your Twitter status when you publish a blog post. The power of it comes when your followers then share/retweet your blog post to their followers.
Involve your followers
Twitter ultimately comes down to interaction. You’re not going to get more page views by just telling your followers to check out your new post. Pose a question or target your followers in a way that will spark discussion. Engage your followers.
Put a Twitter app on your blog
Many bloggers are very active on Twitter, yet much of their audience doesn’t know it because there’s no place to show it on their blog. Put a Twitter widget with recent Tweets or a link on your blog that points people to your profile.
Interact with other bloggers in your niche
Although it may not seem relevant to promoting your blog, it’s important to network with other bloggers and even promote their work. The better relationship you have with fellow bloggers and the more you share their work, the more likely they’ll be to share yours.
Offer incentives to your Twitter followers
Doing regular contests and giveaways are the easiest ways to get easy traffic to your blog. Giveaways and deals are one of the most shared types of tweets on Twitter and as long as you’re giving away something interesting, then you’re sure to get traffic to your blog.
1. Install the retweet button
A lot of people realize the importance of an article when they read it. But most people need to be told the importance of an article before they realize its significance. When your articles are engaging enough, your blog visitors tend to form an opinion for or against what you have written. Either way is fine, but ensure you instigate their thoughts to make an opinion. Such a visitor shall surely be looking to put his point of view forward to his group, and the retweet button reminds him to do just that – retweet your link.
2. Cater to the Ego
Let us suppose you write an article on “Most beautiful cities in the world”. No matter how much time you spent in researching your subject, all that the reader wants to know is whether his city has made it to the list or not. A tweet on this post mentioning the title of this post with a link to your blog might get you casual visits, but then that is not enough to make them hungry to retweet. To do that, soothe or hurt their ego. A tweet that reads ‘Detroit better than New York in beautiful city list’ is sure to make both Detroit and New Yorkers read your blog and either praise or curse you while retweeting. And people from other cities are always going to visit you to see where their city stands!
3. Find the maven
While growing your followership is important, the quality of your followership is important too. There are the ‘absorbant‘ kinds – those who read all your tweets but don’t care sharing them to others and the ‘dispersant‘ kinds – those who retweet anything mildly interesting. Study the behavior of twitterers, and follow them. Retweet interesting links they have posted (Why? Read Point 2). Reply to their tweets with your opinion or suggesting better reads. They are sure to follow you. They matter a LOT!
4. Direct message with link
If you blog about “pets”, keep following all that people tweet about “pets”. You can do so by simply following the Twitter search RSS feed for that particular keyword on your RSS reader. Study the kind of things people tweet about. A lot of them could be people tweeting queries on the subject. Check back on your blog to see if you have written about those queries. If not, write down a quick post and reply to the twitterer with this link. Do this to a few people a day and you will have people following your blog posts blindly and retweeting every article you post.
5. Put it in perspective
Statistics are great. People like them a lot. But you need put your statistics in perspective to get them ‘retweet’ interested. “200 people infected with Swine flu” is a good article to tweet about. But what does the reader want to know? 200 people – Is it too many people or less? But suppose you tweet ‘Swine flu has affected 50% more people than SARS’- now this is something that will set the reader thinking.
Have you noticed the amount of spam on Twitter lately? It seems to increase everyday and is really getting out of control. If you want to save yourself the trouble of having to self-analyze every Twitter user, then you should give TrueTwit a try. It’s a validation service for Twitter that separates the humans from the robots. It saves you time and trouble by helping you weed out automated Twitter spammers.
When you sign up for free, all of your new followers will receive a DM asking them to validate themselves. If you want to send your existing followers a validation DM you’ll have to do that manually after signing up. TrueTwit uses Twitter OAuth, so there’s no need to give out your password. They suggest that you go to your Twitter settings and uncheck the “email when someone starts following me” box, so that you only receive notifications from TrueTwit.
Once you sign up and sync TrueTwit with your Twitter account, you can now login and start managing your current followers. Here you can view and manage validation request and replies. You’ll be able to see how many validation request were sent on the current day and how many followers were verified. All of your followers will be listed and you’ll see 4 columns (pictured below) that will show you if that user is verified, if a message was sent to them, if you’re following them and if they’re blocked.
